I guess something went awfully wrong during hyenas' last hunt in the Pridelands, and this time it wasn't the Guard's fault...
Kion is for a not so nice surprise on his morning patrol.

Context? Nope, I simply wanted to draw something more mature about TLG. One of my pet peeves is the lack of blood in cartoons for young audiences. When I was a kid, it freaked me out, and even now I hate it and it makes me unconfortable, not to mention it breaks the immersion.
This is even worse in TLK/G since well... the savanna is a violent world, if we're realistic, but as always, no blood...
Some scenes like that would make it even better in my opinion since you'd be more on edge.
Oh well, rant aside, I can imagine something like that happening someday. Janja can be very careless when he hunts, and lots of animals in the Pridelands can be dangerous, even herbivores. One mistake can lead to dreadful consequences.
Kion can't be truly bothered by blood since he's a LION and well, obviously he eats raw meat, but seeing someone he knows badly hurt is another story, even if that person isn't one of your friends. And I don't think Kion and Janja really hate each other, even if they may think so. Their relationship isn't nearly as venomous and agressive as Kion's and Zira's, for example.
Hmm and also, no, I don't ship them at all. As stated, I simply think they don't truly hate each other.
Oh yeah, and mature tag because even if it isn't too bloody, it's still a bloody Disney pic, so better safe than sorry, right?

It used to freak you out that there *wasn't* blood in cartoons? Granted, as a young person, I used to get mad, like, "I'm grown up enough! I know things die and bleed when they're hurt!" XD
This is very well done, though!
